Toro zone with a leak or weak spray in Fresno
A Toro zone that went weak, or a soggy spot that never dries, often traces to a broken line or fitting, not the heads. We isolate the zone and repair the pipe.
In older parts of Fresno such as Old Fig Garden, we often find high water pressure and corroding galvanized pipe, and both wear out heads and fittings. See Old Fig Garden sprinkler repair.
Toro Super 600 or T5 head not rotating in Fresno
A Toro Super 600 or T5 that stalls, will not turn or leaks around the head often has debris in the head or a worn part. We repair or replace the head and check the pressure on the zone.
In Fresno the City bans watering from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Mondays, so most systems run overnight or before sunrise, and a failed head can go unseen for weeks.
Toro controller not running zones in Fresno
A Toro controller that will not power on or does not start a zone can be a power, wiring or valve fault. We test the zone output and repair or replace the controller.
Fresno’s schedule changes on April 1 and November 1, and a controller that lost its program is a common reason a lawn ends up on the wrong days.
About Fresno
Fresno summers are hard on sprinkler parts. At the Fresno Yosemite International Airport station the average July high is 97.7°F and the area averages about 38 days a year at 100°F or hotter, according to NOAA’s 1991–2020 climate normals. Seals, solenoids and plastic risers wear faster in that heat.
Fresno had 542,107 residents at the 2020 census and sits at about 308 feet above sea level. Incorporated on October 21, 1885.
The Tower Theatre, built in 1939 at Olive and Wishon Avenues, anchors the Tower District north of downtown.
Fresno watering rules and your Toro system
Fresno’s City water customers follow the City of Fresno’s schedule. If your water comes from a different provider or a private well, follow that provider’s rules.
From April 1 to October 31, odd-numbered addresses water Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and even-numbered addresses Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. From November 1 to March 31, odd addresses water Saturday only and even addresses Sunday only. No watering on Mondays, and never between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
After a Toro repair we test each zone and can set the controller to match. See the full Fresno watering schedule.
