Valve Replacement, explained
Valves open and close each watering zone when the controller sends a signal. Each one has a diaphragm, a solenoid, and a wire run back to the controller.
A worn diaphragm, a failed solenoid, or a damaged wire can keep a zone from turning on, or let it run nonstop.

Check controller output and wiring to each valve.

Open the valve box
Locate the valve and inspect the diaphragm, solenoid, and body.

Repair or replace
Rebuild or replace the valve and fittings, and fix bad wire splices.

Leak check
Run the zone and check for leaks at the valve and downstream.
