Because irrigation is a core part of ACRE’s work, the water side of a Fresno landscape is planned from the first visit, not patched in at the end.

Replacing front lawn in Fresno
The City’s Expanded Lawn to Garden Program offers a rebate for converting front lawn. As of October 2026, the eligibility checklist calls for low-water or California native plants, at least 33% plant coverage at maturity, drip irrigation, and no artificial turf in the converted area.
City approval is required before work begins. We can design a conversion to those rules, plus any backyard work that falls outside the rebate.

Can you design and install a whole Fresno yard?
Yes. We handle design, soil prep, grading, irrigation, planting, hardscape, sod, and lighting.
Does the Fresno Lawn to Garden rebate allow artificial turf?
No. As of October 2026, artificial turf isn’t allowed in the converted area. Check the City’s current checklist before planning.
Do pavers count against the rebate?
Rock materials, including pavers, are limited to 35% of the converted area under the October 2026 checklist.
