New sod in Fresno has to root in before it faces 90-degree days, and the area averages more than 110 of those a year (NOAA). That makes timing, soil prep, and even sprinkler coverage the difference between a lawn that takes and one that browns at the seams.
We remove the old lawn, fix irrigation coverage, grade and prep the soil, lay sod with tight seams, and give you a watering plan.

New lawn and Fresno’s watering rules
New sod usually needs short, frequent watering at first. Fresno limits outdoor watering to assigned days and never between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. (City schedule). Before you plant, call the City at 3-1-1 or (559) 621-2489 to ask how the schedule applies to new landscaping, and plan installs for cooler months when you can.
Note that the City’s Lawn to Garden rebate is for replacing lawn with water-wise plants, and it doesn’t cover artificial turf (eligibility checklist).
Artificial turf is coming soon. We don’t install it in Fresno yet, so for now every lawn we put in is natural sod.

Spring or fall. Avoiding the hottest months gives new roots time to establish before peak heat.
Does Fresno’s rebate cover artificial turf?
No. The City’s Lawn to Garden rebate doesn’t allow artificial turf in the converted area.
Do my sprinklers need work before new sod?
Often. Tilted, sunken, or poorly spaced heads cause patchy lawns, so we check coverage and fix it first.
Do you install artificial turf in Fresno?
Not yet. Artificial turf is coming soon. Right now we install natural sod.
