A Fresno landscape has to handle July highs that average 97.7°F (NOAA) and a schedule that never allows irrigation between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Plant choice, shade, and zoning matter as much as looks.
We plan beds, lawn areas, paths, and the irrigation to match, then build it: soil prep, grading, irrigation, planting, mulch, and cleanup.

Designing a front-yard conversion in Fresno
If you’re replacing front lawn, the City’s Lawn to Garden rules (as of October 2026) set design requirements for the converted area: plants covering at least 33% at maturity, only low-water or California native plants, at least one tree that will reach 15 feet, 3 to 4 inches of mulch, rock limited to 35% and decomposed granite to 25%, no artificial turf, and drip irrigation.
We can design to those rules. Eligibility and approval are up to the City, and approval is required before the project starts.

Do I need City approval before redoing my front yard for the Fresno rebate?
Yes. A City consultation and approval are required before the conversion starts, and the rebate isn’t retroactive.
What kinds of plants work in Fresno?
Low-water and California native plants are a good fit for the heat and the watering limits. The City’s rebate uses a plant water factor (ET factor) of 0.60 or less as its cutoff.
Can I keep part of my lawn?
Yes. Many designs keep a smaller lawn for use and convert the rest. The rebate only applies to the converted area.
