Setting your timer for Madera
Set each program to your address’s three days and make sure every cycle runs before 10 a.m. or after 7 p.m. Add up your zone run times: a long schedule that starts at 8 a.m. can still be running at 10.
The posted Stage B days are the same all year, so there’s no November switch like Fresno and Clovis have. Do cut run times back in the cooler months.
The fifteen-minute rule
The City says watering more than fifteen minutes per setting may be considered wasteful. Spray zones put down water quickly, so short cycles fit well. Rotor and drip zones put water down more slowly; if a zone needs more time, split it into two shorter cycles with a break so the water soaks in. If you’re unsure, ask the City’s Water Conservation staff at (559) 661-5466.
Keep water out of the gutter
The City doesn’t allow water to run down the gutter or onto a neighbor’s property, or hosing off driveways and sidewalks. A head spraying pavement or a valve that won’t shut off is the usual cause. We handle sprinkler repair in Madera and controller programming from our Fresno location.
