Fowler watering rules and your Rain Bird system
Fowler’s outdoor watering schedule is published by the City of Fowler on its Water page.
In short: odd Tue/Sat, even Wed/Sun on the fall schedule; never Mon/Thu/Fri.
After a Rain Bird repair we test each zone and can set the controller to match. See the full Fowler watering schedule.

Rain Bird valve stuck open or will not shut off in Fowler
A Rain Bird valve that never closes is usually debris under the diaphragm, a worn diaphragm or a failing solenoid. One that never opens points to the same parts, or to a wiring fault. We test the solenoid and wire first, then rebuild or replace the valve.
A valve that sticks open runs a zone when the rules say it should be off (odd Tue/Sat, even Wed/Sun on the fall schedule; never Mon/Thu/Fri), and one that will not open leaves a whole zone dry.
Rain Bird drip line leaking or clogged in Fowler
A Rain Bird drip line that stopped working is usually a clogged emitter, a cut tube or a failed fitting. We walk the zone while it runs, find the dry spot, and fix the tube, emitter or fitting.
Fowler is about 12.8 miles from our Fresno location. A zone with low pressure or soggy ground usually points to a leaking line, and we trace it zone by zone.
About Fowler
Fowler shares the Fresno area’s semi-arid San Joaquin Valley climate, with long, hot, dry summers, mild winters and about 11 inches of rain a year, so sprinklers carry most of the watering load.
Fowler had 6,700 residents at the 2020 census and sits at about 308 feet above sea level. Incorporated on June 15, 1908.
The 2020 census counted 2,133 housing units in Fowler, and about 61.3% of occupied homes are owner-occupied. That works out to about 842 housing units per square mile.
Fowler was formerly called Fowler’s Switch, and its first post office opened in 1882.
Rain Bird sprinkler head not rotating or popping up in Fowler
A Rain Bird 1800 or 5000 that will not rotate or rise is most often dirt in the head, a worn gear or a stuck riser. A head that leaks at the top or the base usually has a worn seal or a crack. Most of these are fixed by swapping the head or its parts, then matching the nozzle and arc to the zone.
In Fowler the rules in short are: odd Tue/Sat, even Wed/Sun on the fall schedule; never Mon/Thu/Fri. A cracked or misaimed head puts water where it should not go, and a head that never rises leaves a dry patch until the next watering day.
