About Sunnyside
Sunnyside, once called Maltermoro, is one of Fresno’s oldest neighborhoods, on the eastern side of the city about 5 miles north-northeast of Malaga. Part of it is an unincorporated census-designated place in Fresno County. The Sunnyside Country Club began in 1911 on land from William Oothout’s Sunnyside Vineyard.
The area is known for large lots, tree-lined streets and ranch-style and Mediterranean Revival homes, many with backyard pools. The Sunnyside Property Owners Association is active in the neighborhood. Sunnyside is in ZIP 93727, about 7 miles from our Fresno location.
ZIP: 93727 · Distance: about 7.0 miles from ACRE Fresno, 911 E Lansing Way.
Large lots and pools
Large lots carry more zones and longer lines, and a backyard pool changes how a yard should be watered. Spray that lands on the pool deck or in the water wastes water and leaves mineral spots. Heads near the deck do better as low-angle nozzles or drip in the beds.
On older systems, look for heads that tilt or sink as the lawn grows up around them, valves that hum but don’t open, and leaks at old fittings.
Overspray and coverage
We adjust or replace heads so every part of the lawn gets water without hitting the house, the pool deck or the street. A coverage tune-up is often the difference between a lawn with dry crescents and one that is evenly green. More: sprinkler head replacement in Fresno.
Watering rules in Sunnyside
Part of Sunnyside is inside the City of Fresno and part is unincorporated Fresno County, so the rules depend on your water provider. City of Fresno water customers follow the City schedule: From April 1 to October 31, odd-numbered addresses water Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and even-numbered addresses Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. From November 1 to March 31, odd addresses water Saturday only and even addresses Sunday only. No watering on Mondays, and never between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
If your bill comes from another provider, follow that provider’s schedule. Not sure? Check the name on your water bill. Details for City customers: Fresno watering schedule.
