About Old Town Clovis
Clovis began in 1890 as a freight stop on the San Joaquin Valley Railroad. Old Town Clovis is its historic center along Pollasky Avenue, with blocks of early-1900s homes around it. The City’s Central Clovis Specific Plan guides the area, and the City is working toward historic-preservation rules for it.
Old Town and the homes around it are in ZIP 93612, with some streets in 93611, about 6 miles from our Fresno location and close to our Clovis location.
ZIP: 93612 and 93611 · Distance: about 5.9 miles from ACRE Fresno, 911 E Lansing Way.
Older homes, newer sprinklers
Like most older neighborhoods, the sprinkler systems around Old Town were installed long after the houses, and many have been extended a zone at a time. Typical issues: mismatched heads on one zone, old valves without a reachable shutoff, and lines that run under walks that were poured later.
Narrow parkway strips and small front lawns are hard to water with spray without wetting the sidewalk. Drip or low-angle nozzles fix that.
Bringing an old system up to date
You don’t have to tear out an older system to make it work well. We replace worn valves on a clean manifold, add an accessible shutoff, standardize heads per zone, and set the controller for Clovis days and the 48-hour rain rule. See valve repair in Clovis and drip irrigation in Clovis.
