What a sprinkler backflow preventer does
A backflow preventer sits on the supply line to the sprinkler system and keeps irrigation water from flowing back toward the drinking-water supply. Because it is outdoors, seals wear, caps leak and bodies crack.
How we repair a backflow preventer valve
We repair backflow preventer valves in two ways. If the body is sound, we rebuild the internals. If it is cracked or worn out, we replace the whole valve. Then we reconnect and re-test every zone. This covers anti-siphon valves too.
Check valves for low sprinkler heads
When the zone shuts off, water in the pipe can drain out of the lowest heads and make a puddle. On request, we install check valves at the lowest points on your property to hold that water in the line.
Backflow testing and requirements
Our work is repairing and replacing the valves. Ask your water provider whether your device has any testing or permit requirement; we can tell you what we found at the visit.
Signs your backflow valve needs attention
Water spitting from the top, a constant drip, a cracked body, or low pressure after the device. See the system leaking when off guide for other causes.
