About Woodward Park
The Woodward Park neighborhood takes its name from Woodward Park, the City of Fresno’s 300-acre regional park on Friant Road along the San Joaquin River. The neighborhood covers ZIP codes 93720, 93730 and part of 93619, and much of it is in the Clovis Unified School District.
Homes.com describes midcentury homes on the south side and newer 21st-century subdivisions on the north, with a median year built of 1994 and a median lot of about 7,400 square feet. Woodward Park is about 5 to 6 miles north of our Fresno location.

Systems that are now 30 years old
With a median build year around 1994, a lot of Woodward Park systems are on their original valves, wiring and controller. Thirty years is when those parts tend to start failing one at a time: a valve diaphragm tears and the zone won’t shut off, a wire splice corrodes and a zone stops answering, or a controller loses its program after a power outage.
On a lot around 7,400 square feet, the system is usually a handful of lawn zones front and back plus shrub or drip zones. When one fails, the rest keep running, so the first sign is often one brown section of lawn.
Repair one part, or plan the next ten years
When a 1990s system starts failing, you have two choices: fix the part that broke, or replace the worn parts on a schedule. Our free 21-point inspection lists every issue by valve with its own price, so you can fix the urgent one now and plan the rest. Valve-by-valve replacement is usually cheaper than a new system; our guide on repairing vs. replacing walks through the choice.
HOAs in newer subdivisions
Many of the newer subdivisions in the Woodward Park area have HOAs; older streets often don’t. If you’re in an HOA, the association usually handles common landscaping, and your own system is yours. Woodward Lake, the private lake community nearby, has its own page: Woodward Lake sprinkler repair.
